  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

male being neutered

Mama Doe
stupid question but what do they do to a male when it goes in to be done? i have no idea so any help would be fab :D

They remove the testes... basically :) They make a tiny incision... its a more simple operation for the males id say, the wounds are much smaller :)

Neutering will help to stop him from marking his territory with strong smelling urine basically :) It will also calm down agressive attitude and he'll be more likely to hump everything that moves :lol: :) He'll be easier to litter train too ;) Though my George was litter trained before his neuter.

Hope this helps a bit xXx

I currently have a mini lop - Little Ben whos due to be neutered!
The smell from him is horrendous, hes sprayed my cream walls, he humps everything in sight, he is currently attempting to mount the play tunnel in his cage. When hes out you cant move for him trying to get you, arms, legs, face, cat, dog, you name it!

I cant complain about litter training though, as hes been okay.

He also has a Lady friend on her way soon, so sooner the better! :)
