i always thought bunnies couldnt have peanuts?

I think the doubts about peanuts are because of the mould that grows on them, which is poisonous to humans, never mind about little critters like buns.

The mouls is aspergillus flavus .

I think nut allergies are often an allergy to this mould rather than to the nuts themselves.

Peanuts

Hi,

Yes rabbits can have peanuts,but not in large amounts,due to Gut in balance and due to peanuts being very fatty to bunnies!:bunny:
I occasionally feed mine Lops,Unsalted Raw peanuts.

Anybody wanting to put weight on an underweight rabbit would be better off feeding sunflower seed kernals or pumpkin seeds instead. Sunflower seeds give a nice gloss to the coat too
