Vibes for Misty

wickedbun

Young Bun
My beautiful Misty has gone down hill rapidly over the weekend. We found a lump on her jaw on Saturday and she has lost a lot of weight. She is at the specialist rabbit clinic on a drip and waiting for a consult.
Looks like her gut is shutting down. Can't believe she has deteriorated so fast. She is normally such a feisty little thing but she is being such a snuggle bun- wanting to be cuddled - which is SO out of character. I usually get playful nips!
I am at work waiting for a call to let me know if they can save her.
Very sad.

oh no how sad, i hope misty pulls though, Gut stasis, with the right nursing is pretty easy to bring a bun back from (providing theres nothing sinister there causing the actual stasis)
Vibes for u and misty xxx

When Arnie had stasis he went down hill really fast too - That's rabbits for you. It's very scary considering you could be out for a whole day and when you get back they could be very ill or worse

I hope your vets dont keep her waiting too long as she'll need a gut stimulant and pain killers. At least she is on a drip so wont get anymore dehydrated.

Sending major vibes for her

Misty is coming home!

After a very tense day, Misty is able to come home. She has teeth trouble.:( but she is stable and well enough to come home to her husbun. The force feeding and pain relief has worked wonders.
She is going back on Thursday for X-rays and teeth surgery if possible. I thought this was going to be the end of the line for my beautiful bun but the specalist is confident that there are many options to help her:p
Keep the good vibes coming. She is not out of the woods yet but feeling more hopeful.

Only just seen this, glad she is feeling better.

Meanwhile you could help her by grating carrot and maybe softening some of her pellets with warm water if she looks like she is slowing down eating again.

Sending her some vibes for Thursday.

Glad Misty is able to come home. My bun Benji had an infection in his jaw and had quite a big lump on his bottom jaw. He had some teeth taken out as they were rotten and he lived on for a couple of years after having all this done so just wanted to offer encouragement to you really, I am sure she will be fine
