  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

VHD Myxi jabs, Leicester Vets prices???

Captainsfluff

Warren Scout
I contacted my vet about the price of VHD and MYxi jab to get my Captain vaccinated, I had until recently been led to believe it highly unlikely that as a house bunny he would ever contract either. Since adopting my second bun Velvet (who is vaccinated) I have realised otherwise and from what I have read on here.

My Vets said £20 each jab, including health chaeck. Has anyone had their bun vaccinated cheaper in Leicester/is this a reasonable price?

Obviously I am willing to pay if this is a normal/adverage price, but would like to know if can get it cheaper anywhere elae.

My current vet is Vets4Pets in oadby, Leicester

Vets4Pets don't charge that much in Sunderland.

You could searching for vets on the RCVS website and ringing around for quotes. There is a thread in rabbit chat where people are saying how much the vacs cost, and it varies a lot! :)

Thanks, maybe they don't get so many buns come through here in Leicester.....odd that it is cheaper where you are for same company.....

I paid £23 on mon at my normal vets, but i usually go to the pet vaccination clinic for vaccines its £12.50 thats in nuneaton

I pay £25 per vaccination. I know, I'm an idiot. I only go there because it's handy for me. For anything other than vaccinations I go to a rabbit vet.
