Rabbit Vet in Jersey

Binky Bunny

Young Bun
Hi, I'm new to this forum (I'm going to put in an introduction to me and my bun in a mo) so hope I've got the right section!

I live in Jersey, Channel Islands, does anyone know of a vet that specialises or is knowledgable of rabbits? Had a look at some of the search sites but can't find anything over here.

Thanks

Thanks Silly Rabbit,

Lucky's been to see Mr Foreshaw (don't know his first name) at New Era since and he was great- a lot more knowledgable than the first vet she saw elsewhere. He's recommended blood tests so is back in next Friday.

Yeh thats Hugh, he is brilliant with my rabbits :) Another one there who is good to see if Hugh is ever not about when you need to go in is Andy

I hope Lucky will be ok x

That's good to know there's another vet to see, he did seem really busy! Is Andy based at New Era or at Leodis in St Brelades? I'm over in St Ouens so Georgetown is a bit of trek, especially at rush hour which is when I'll mostly be visiting!

I'm hoping she's ok too, he thinks it's either EC or Epilepsy but we'll have a better idea after the blood tests, poor thing, it's so scary for us when she has her seizures, I'm just so glad he said she won't know a thing about them.

Aww poor girl :(

Did you see Hugh at Leodis? I think the vets go between the two practices so I guess you could get in with Andy up there :)

They do have one vet who is allergic to rabbits though so if you ever need to make an appointment and have to see anyone at the last minute kind of thing or Hugh isn't there, just mention you don't want to see the one who is allergic to rabbits  I think they put it on my notes for me! I can't remember his name, he is a lovely guy but obviously a bit useless when your taking bunnies in

I always use New Era because its like a 2 minute drive from me :) Your right though you would never get down to New Era at rush hour in time for an appointment  I struggle making appointments after work with the traffic and I work in town! x

Thanks for the advice, I'll definately watch out for the allergic one :)

Lucky's in at New Era on Friday but luckily my OH has a day off so is doing the run before rush hour, next time I'll definately see if I can get in at Leodis. She doesn't really like being in the car so the less time spent in it the better, or maybe it's just my driving :?

 I would say its the car, none of my animals like it and it really is only round the corner from me! I took one of my rats to the vets after work tonight and from the moment I put him in the car he did nothing but squeak it sounded like he was being murdered or something
