  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

hello all
dillion is acting really strange he's just not himself phoned emergency vets and they said i'm just being paranoid basically he's still eating and drinking normally but he's really lethargic just sitting near the food bowl and not moving really and doesn't want anything to do with me any ideas what could be wrong or am i just being paranoid?

You know your bunny better than anyone in the world and if you think he is acting strange then insist on the vet seeing him, if not, take him to another vet.
If he is lethargic then that means something is wrong.
Sending lots of vibes for Dillon

I agree with Jaypot. My vet would insist I bring the rabbit in to be on the safe side not say I was being paranoid.

please send vibes
i got in touch with one of my work mates who's a vet and she agreed to see him even though we don't do out of hours and dillion is really sick he's got a high temp and has had a fit but he's now with emergency vet so hope he'll make it but not good prognosis :cry::cry:

Good on you for being so persistent. I hate it when people say you're being paranoid - we know our bunnies better than anyone.
Sending all of the vibes I can muster, and really hoping that he responds to treatment.
