The aggresive bunny appreciation thread

Phill

Wise Old Thumper
well i think there are quite a few forum members with a soft spot for aggresive buns. I have particularly. I have adopted a far few buns over the years who have been deemed aggresive for one reason or another and range form being super agresive and taking chuncks out of you (angie65 is proof of that one) to just growling and boxing. I have only had two properly aggresive buns in my time Max and Bootz. All ther other buns who have come with aggresion issues, Sooty, Tilly, Jamima, and one of my own buns Pan all lost there aggression with regular human interaction and a routine. Sooty will still growl but nothing else and Jamima is now one of my friendliest buns. Tilly was a beautiful nut job! if she didn't trust you you were screwed, but she was mine and she was a baby. Now Max and Bootz are properly off there trollys! Max came from furryfriends rescue down south and bootz from little critterz up in fife. Neither escue gave up on either rabbit and i offered them a home. They are neuetered and spayed and have been with me now for three years and still i don't trust either of them! Max is a big mummys boy and he lulls you into a false sense of seurity by being cute and chinning you and then he bites you! no word of warning not a peep from him, he just turns and bites and then binkys off! Bootz is a big giant grump, she growls, snorts, squeals, nips, boxes any which way she can think of to get you out of her run and out of her personal space she will use! they love each other and are so happy together and you know what? I wouldn't change them for the world, i wouldn't change any of my buns but especially not them, i love the fact that there nuts, i love that i can't clean Max and Bootz out without loosing part of my welly! So this ost is in appreciation of all the laughter by aggressive buns casue me xx

i must admit i was fast going to give up on my adopted bun, carrie, when i got her she was fine, bonded her with biggles she then turned into "touch my husbun and you die" touch my bowl and you die" "try and move me out of the corner and you die ....well you get the pic,

haveing sat and studyied her, ive since put it down to pure frustration and terrorial issues, as she can't run around like her husbun does on lamiate floor since putting a path of carpet tiles through the house she is much happier, she couldnt even stand on a simple thin throw on the floor she still hid bless her, after lots of umm and arh ing and lot of help through people here, i have grown more to love her ( its not easy loving a bun who attacks you :( ) and since ive made her a larger condo as i would call shes much happier and runs around only on the carpet tiles
must admit i wont go out to rescue aggressive buns im more of a sucker for poorly ones, but here is my proud girl doing her keep fit on the stairs

Hello Phill

My Orange Rex, Hal, swears like a trouper  But he's all mouth. However, anyone else who hears him thinks he's a killer

Then I had Victoria Meldrew, a mega grumpy French Lop. Her grumpiness was 100% down to being traumatised by the horrendous conditions she had lived in for 3 years
When she came here she was 5.5kg of aggression. She'd kick, bite, growl and the only way to start trying to socialise her was to attatch a soft hairbrush to the end of a broom handle and gently stroking her back with the brush.
She eventually became the cuddliest Bun but had so many health problems due to her past history

I love a Bun with attitude :D

I prefer the super aggressive ones. You do feel a bit stupid though sometimes all kitted out to be ripped to shreds, & a bun comes running over for nose rubs. You know fine well what would happen if I went in unprepared though:lol:

My Suki is a bit of a grunter - she has bit me once - but didn't draw blood - I think she was as surprised as me actually - she's got poor eyesight & I wasn't as slow as I usually am:oops::lol:

ahhhh ....

All you agressive bun lovers ....we have two lovlies up for rehoming ...;) ;)

want more details ....!!!!  do ya do ya :D

This is Panda......so called becuase he "LOVES KUNG FU!!!!!" and I also think he looks a bit like the kung fu master in the film....no really he's called panda because of his eyes I think. He came to us a growling snarling boxing and biting bunny and is now a really good testiment to what the snip and good handling can do. He is still not keen on my broom and will attack it and he doesn't like being held but he's getting better every day. It's a joy helping him along on his journey.

When i got Roo he was so aggresive, i had to go to the dr,s once with an injury off him:lol::lol: he had been abandoned and left to fend for himself, my cousin catched him and bought him to me.He was my first experience with a bun, and beleive me he was extremely hard work, i didnt know what i let myself in for..Now 5yrs later, hes so loving and adores attention, and i wouldnt be without him, i just think he was traumatised from an early age, not his fault.Deb.:D

not so much agressive as opiniated :lol:

alvin has never taken a chunk out of me (yet) he has boxed lunged and nipped me but thats only when im clumsily trying to handle/brush him and hes not half as bad as when he had teen hormones and i had to clean his cage

Oooh yes I love the biters  When I used to foster for BriarPatch, she used to give me all the aggressive ones, they came to AuntyA's 'people-are-nice-there's-no-need-to-be-a-grump' camp. I love a behavioural challenge :D

its like when you go to parents' evening and they use similar euphamisms like 'spirited', 'advocates for himself strongly', 'very assertive' and you know exactly what is going on ! LOL
