  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

indiscriminate dribbly wee?

Bluesmum

Wise Old Thumper
Woke up this morning and Blues bum is soaked. He's leaving a trail of wee everywhere but seems fine otherwise. He's eating fine and not hunched up, there's no teeth grinding so I don't think he's in pain....just weeing everywhere. What do you think guys? Waiting for the vets to open so I can get an appointment, I'm just really worried about him. Theres loads of the sticky poo everywhere in his hutch and all over the utility room floor where he lives as well.
Am I just being silly or could something be wrong?

Could it be my fault that he's got it? I clean his litter tray and poo box daily. Why does time drag so much when you're waiting for something?

Please dont blame yourself. You are getting him to the vets as soon as you can to get treatment. You sound like a lovely bunny mum to me.Please let us know how you get on?

could be a UI as suggested or could be a symptom of EC. Worth getting your vet to treat with both baytrill for a UI and panacur paste for EC. There are a few other things it could be so but those would be my first thoughts.
