Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

How soon should I allow a post-spay rabbit to jump to different levels?

Esme was spayed on Wednesday, ie 3 days ago. She's doing brilliantly, not yet eating and pooing as much as normal but eating enthusiastically. She's now bouncing around, doing little skips, full stretches and happy flops. She's living on the middle floor of her NIC grid home and she keeps reaching up hopefully to the top layer which is blocked off, she's desperate to run around the different levels as normal.

The question is, how soon is is appropriate to let her jump around to that extent?

Thanks in anticipation.

I personally didn't allow it until after mine went for their post spay checks, so about 10 days or so. That was my choice though. I would however keep her on restricted movement for at least a week.

:D Thanks.

Those answers have confirmed what I was thinking.

I shall make her a gradual ramp to the lower level for now so she has a bit more space .. but one she can't leap off.

You have to block off any areas where they might jump. They should also only be on limited exercise so shouldn't be in as large space as normal.

When dreama is in her cage and locked in (not often) she still manages to jump about, anything smaller would be a carrier?

With the ledge taken out, would she need something smaller than when she is speyed?

No, that would be fine. It's generally the jumping form one level to another that will hurt her tummy, so if it's all on one level that should be fine.

I restricted movement for my last forsters to one level for 4 days then gave them back their ramp. If I had a house bun I'd probably leave it a week before allowing them to jump on sofas etc.
