Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

strange bunny noises

Hi, my munchkin is making funny noises tonight, they are sort of snuffely noises that sound like ngh ngh ngh. Would this be a normal noise. I had just given him some basil when he was making them.

Should I be worried? ( sorry for the spelling of the noise he is making, it's the only wat I can think to spell what he was doing:oops:)

My buns are very vocal and make a range of noises that I can attribute to certain things.

It sounds, to me, like that noise is the noise an excited bunny might make (mostly made by hormonal men though, in my experience).

However, as you are probably aware, some buns make noises when breathing if there is some sort of illness or problem there. Maybe keep an eye on him and if it continues or worsens, get him checked out, just in case.

he hasnt had his bits done yet  and is in the cage next to his Boo girl, maybe he is ready to have this done and was pleased to get some basil?

i will keep an eye on hin though
