  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Another neuter recover question!

Young Bun
So, my bun got neutered on Friday (yesterday). Everything went great. LEft him in his crate for a bit then returned him to his house :) He ate his apple slice right away and drank some water, he seemed fine, but stayed in one place for longer periods of time.

ANYWAY, as hard as I tried to keep him in his cage for a few days, he has been So anxious to get out today! Finally this evening I just let him out, and he's prancing around a bit too happily for me, but I can't bear to put him away again!

Is this okay? He seems perfectly happy, but I don't want him to get swollen balls from too much jumping!

What should I do? How long have you guys restricted exercise after a neuter?

Whoa! Weird! So, I have 3 indoor/outdoor cats. I have had the bun for a month and right from the get go everyone got along with him. they all just coexisted and maybe played for a second here and there.

All of a sudden, the first re-encounter since the neuter, and I come out to find my cat chasing my poor hospital bun around in a circle! Ay! I REALLY hope he didn't hurt himself now, and here I was worried about a few hops! :(
