Boarders in North west

Becki xX

Warren Veteran
This a seriously long shot, but I am so in need of a holiday. Basically, I'm looking for somewhere around Manchester/North west area that can board Rhia for 5-7 days in a couple of weeks. But  they have to be right on my doorstep as I've been advised by two different vets that she isn't to travel. And be able to inject her twice or three times daily. It cant really be somewhere that the person has a full time job & fifty other bunnies, because she can be a completely happy normal bun one minute, and collapsed on the floor the next. So Im looking for someone experienced, knows what to look for in poorly buns & is around a decent amount of time (obviously i work full time myself & have a bit of a life away from Bee, so its not like she has 24/7 care..) - preferably next door to my house!! As I said its a very long shot but I need a break so desperately! :(

Would your Vets Board her for a week ?

Ohh I dont know but you've just actually reminded me that the specialist vet we see has a cattery attached to their practice or something, so maybeeeeee they could squish her fat butt in there! :D :D :D Shes going there anyway on the day we'd hope to go away, still quite a way away which is a slight worry when she isnt coming home to her own house to calm down...but im sure if i took all her home comforts that she would settle. Thanks a lot for that xxx

It's a shame with regard to her travel as you know she would be more than welcome back here anytime and we have been trained by the vets in the administering of injections etc as we have regular clients with diabetic animals that we have to inject

We'd be more than happy with her coming to you again, but it just doesnt seem to be an option at the moment. She seems to have reached a rut in her treatment, and had a bad collapse Sunday night, which brought home to us that she isn't quite as tough as we like to think. If we were going for a few weeks then I think we'd just have to go for it because the risk of leaving her with someone not quite competent is just as worrying as her getting poorly from travelling. I feel heartless leaving her, but we dont know that she will ever be better than she is now - and Im drained atm & need a holiday so bad! X

Where exactly are you Becki? Hopefully she can fit in to your vets cattery. :D I'm in the north west, but about an hour from manchester, so probably no good.

Aww Bless you, Were actually in Derbyshire. About forty five (ish?!) mins from Manchester City centre. Will Pm :) X

P.s. Trying to think of a way I can zap her somewhere without her knowing, cos I think she'd be way too stressed out if the boarding at the vets is the pods like they keep the sick animals in...:?

Cant help as i am MILES away but thought i would just say i hope Rhia is alright and you too, hope you have a lovely relaxing holiday if you find someone for your little girl :) xx

Aww Thanks everyone, I AM going on holiday - Will find someone to care for the girly properly if it kills me! Gonna try & get sorted tomorrow. Shes already got quite a big journey on the day we want to go, so if we could go straight onto the boarders then it shouldnt be much different from just coming home for her :? X

Becki if the lady who's details I've given you is no good, Dee is probably no further away from you than we are:D

I had a check Lynne and you are a bit nearer. I'm no good with my directions, I just know I'm in the north west, and everytime I hear it I have to go 'never eat shredded wheat' just to make sure. Lord knows how I'm gonna drive.

Dee you are miles away from Becki:D, I am probably in the middle of both of you.
Would it not be better for Rhia to go to holidayhutch as she as been their before and knows her, at least she won't be as stressed than going somewhere completely new.

Yes I think so too, I didn't know where Becki was till she pm'd me. :)

Well I've been told that its not in Rhias best interest to be travelling to Barnsley, So I'm going to have to find somewhere nearer. My vet mentioned her friend that sometimes boards or something, So will ask her about that. The holiday isnt happening though cos Im such a big muppet & got the dates wrong of my time off work  Am gutted because i reeeeeeally want some time away, but its probably best that missy stays with me until we're a bit further on with the treatment :)

What are you like:roll::lol::lol::lol: If you can't find anyone nearer to you let me know roughly the dates and I will see what I can do for you:D
