Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

URGENT How much Infacol?

Kaz Johnson

Young Bun
Hi

My one year old mini lop has stopped eating and drinking, he tried a little bit of hay an hour or so ago and it does not appear he has pooed but its hard to tell having two buns. My other bun was like this some months back and after some syringe feeding his tum gave a mighty gurgle and then he seemed fine.

Have bought some Infacol (as well as some fruit juice) but not sure how much to give and do I give it neat or dilute it? I am keeping him moving about and am trying him with some treats and fruit juice as well. Thanks.

I agree, you need to get him to a vets today.

I give one dropper-full of neat Infacol when my lot have bloat but if they haven't started to eat within the hour then I take them to an emergency vet, it's not worth the risk of them getting worse.

there isn't an exact amt., 2 ml is always good.

Separate the 2 buns so you can tell which poos is which.

If your bun's stomach is "hard", especially on the left side, then it is BLOAT, a physical blockage and must requires immediate vet attn., or else the bun will die.

If it is not the case, then it's just a GI stasis, scroll down from the below link, it is very useful:
