New Kit
hi all,
i dont know if anyone can help or anything, but my mother in law bought two young bunnies about a week or two ago, they was doing fine, and then all of a sudden one of them has come down with funny eyes, anyway i took it to a friend of mine who is a rabbit specialist and she took one look at the bunny and said its deformed, and we thought that the bunnies were both 6 months old thats what we got told, and my friend said no one of them(the deformed one) is only 14 weeks old and the other one is 6 months old,and that the deformed one is interbred.
i rung the lady up who i got them from is denying everything of course, she is now changing her story saying she got them off of a breeder, she told me they were sisters, now she saying she got told they were not related, etc.
what can i do about this cos someone must be to blame?
also can anyone give me any info or advice about looking after a deformed bunny.
all info and advice would be most grateful.
thank you,
lynn.

when yo usay deformed is there a picture you could put on here so we know? is it just the eyes in which case how much vision does bunny have? could it not be an eye infection? or (fingers crossed not a cas eof myxi?) i assume bth buns are now speyed and also vaccs for both myxi and vhd? if the bun was fine and has suddenly come down with funny eyes i doubt it is a deformity as that would show from birth ? is it shape or how is "deformity" present?

I would make a complaint about the breeder you got them from to the local council. All breeders must have licences from the local council, so if they get lots of complaints they will investigate the breeder and may revoke a licence.

Not really sure about caring for the sick bunny. I guess just keep her indoors and do your best to give her the best life she can have. If she is sick then she may not be suitable for vaccinations but your vet can advise on whether that is the case or not.

I have to totally agree.
I think you should also take the bun to the vets to get the eye checked out.
When you say your friend is a rabbit specialist what do you mean? like a vet:?
