  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

The raskle has just trashed the pen I have him in.

Hay moved and up turned, shredded paper everywhere! Diggin into the towel. Turned the light off to go to bed and he starts playing with his jingle ball!

Do you think he will be ok to go out tomorrow? He had his op yesterday, but he is going stir crazy in the pen.

His plums look a little bruised today, but the stitches look clean and clear, he hasn't tried to take them out yet

my petal does this to her hutch every day, i just leave it, she oboviously likes it this way, teds is perfect lol she's so tidy and clean and proper. petal also started digging in her toilet and had also started peeing in the corner, i think she's just bored during the day when i'm at work. poor bun bun, she'll soon have a mansion. :p

If he seems ok I would put him back outside. Alfie didn't like being stuck indoors much after his op and I put him back out around 24 hours later. He seemed to be regulating his own temperature etc so I figured he would be happier in familiar surroundings. I closed off access to the run for another day or two though, just so that he wouldn't do himself a mischief running up and down the ramp.
