Bunny vet in Oxford and jab advice

Hiya (again:oops:) I could do with some more advice I'm afraid!

Does anybody know a decent small animal vet in Oxford? I am not local and so am not sure of a good one. I am bit scared of taking him to a vet who doesn't really know what they are doing because when I got my baby hamster a little while ago, the day after she had a sore eye so I took her to the vets and she couldn't pick her up and then she thought she was some unnaturally large Russian (she is syrian!) so I'm not sure I want to go there again (I was also crying and she clearly thought I was an idiot!). She was really nice though so maybe she would be ok? I guess rabbits go to the vets more than hamsters so perhaps she will know more about them?

Also re. injections, I read on the main site that you can't do the Myxi one within 2 weeks of the VHD one - so which do you do first? I presume VHD?(Bunny will be living outside with me but hopefully going to new indoor home shortly if that makes a difference?) He is about 6 months old.

How much should I be looking to pay for these as well? I would be happy to pay a bit more for a bunny specialist if that's what you would advise? My friend who owns him says that the pet shop told her that indoor bunnies don't need injections (this is what they say because I have heard them tell other people that too and she says that if he is going to be an indoor bunny again then she doesn't think he'll need them. That's wrong right? (If I have to get them done myself I will so don't worry!! But I want to be certain before I tell her he needs them 100%)

Not clueless at all - I find out everything I need to know on here! Better to ask! Yes, indoor buns should have their jabs as there are ways the infections could still get to them.
I paid £25 for both jabs, this seems to be about the average from a poll someone did last week.
People on here seem to have the jabs in different orders but I've never seen a reason why - Gregory had VHD first and is fine. Others say myxi first - so not entirely sure but someone will be on soon who is!
 
I think most vets have a protocol for what order they do the jabs in (we do myxi first), so the best thing would be to follow the advice of the vet you register with.
 
I've just searched a couple in Oxford. Unfortunately my vets are a little far they are in Hook Norton.

It might be worth ringing around and asking a few questions whether they are rabbit savey and getting prices.

My vet charges about £28.00 for the myxi and VHD as a combined offer.

The one I went to last time was Abivale (sp?) in Kennington - have you heard anything about them? I just spoke to my boyfriend (he came with me last time) and he said he thought vet was nice (even though she laughed at me for taking my hamster in :D) so I tempted to go back there.

Are most vets quite good with rabbits and I'm worrying unneccessarily? As it's only an injection, so I guess all animals are kind of the same for that?

It's really important to get a vet that know what they're doing with rabbits, some seem to have no idea what to do with them when they have a problem!
