Just taken our little Cooper in for a check with the vet as he has a small bald patch under his chin, and was holding his head oddly last night. They've found one of his molars is long and curving and it looks like there is an abcess. :( He's had antibiotics and pain relief and is going back for an x-ray and dental on Tuesday, please send vibes for him, really hoping it's not a tooth root abcess.

Poor Cooper, sending some vibes to him.

Thanks all. It doesn't seem to be bothering him to be honest, he's eating like a pig as usual and bouncing about like a happy little fellow. I'm really nervous what they'll find on Tuesday though!

Today's the day, my vet is going to take some x-rays and have a look at his mouth under GA then decide whether they can help or if it's a case for referral. Keep your fingers crossed for him.

Just spoke to the vet and Cooper is coming round from the GA now.
She said all the problems are on his right side, and that the cheek tissue there is very thickened and rather inflamed.
She thinks are least one tooth needs to be removed, so am going to get a referral up to Cambridge for the specialist to take a look at him and interpret the x-rays then see where to go from there. One of the girls is going to ring to find out when we can get an appt and what sort of cost we're looking at (eek!).

Booked to see the specialist next Tuesday, it was the first appt she had. Trying to be a patient bunny mummy and resist ringing to find out how he's doing 'til a little bit later. Hoping he'll start eating nice and quick so I can get him home.

He wasn't eating at the practice, so we brought him home last night. Within half hour he was pooing, and shortly after that he started stuffing his face! :D

good luck with cambridge,if its the same place my mum had to take her dog to I'd be prepared for a big bill!

Mum had to give them the consultation fee upfront and it was 205!....I nearly died.

Was that **** White Referrals by any chance?

Luckily it's not an actual referral centre I'm going to, just a normal practice with a vet who is an exotics specialist. Won't be cheap, but shouldn't be as steep as referral centres - the consult is 35.
