Hello

What fruit and vegetable do you feed your buns everyday?
Freddie and Bella have been having Broccoli but i was on a website yesterday and it said don't feed broccoli because it can cause gas. Is this true?
They were also having some romaine lettuce and then someone told me do not feed them lettuce its really bad for them.
They have also been having some cucumber, peas (in a pod) and some grapes. Is this all ok?

Also how much pellets should i give them on top of this? I am not sure if i am feeding them too much or to little and they always seem hungry.

Advice appreciated.

My rabbits always seem hungry.
Their main diet should be hay.I give a small handful of pellets in a morning.
At teatime they have spring greens, parsley, corriander, broccoli, celery, carrot.N ot all at once of course:lol::lol:
Fruit should only be given as a treat.
Romaine lettuce is ok but spring greens would be better.:D

i used to feed all sorts of veg for variety, my vet told me to feed high fibre stuff to help with the teeth grinding... i now feed a big bowlful about 200g shared each morning, this i gradually worked up to over a few months started at less than 25g of each veg and built it up from there...

the veg my vet told me to feed was Kale, cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower so they get Kale, spring greens, broccoli, savoy cabbage each day

i still also buy romaine lettuce, carrot and parsley as a treat :)

Thanks guys:)
I will carry on feeding them broccoli:).
I am going to the supermarket later to get some Kale, spring greens and some savoy cabbage.

Should i stop feeding them grapes? They only have 2 about every 3 or 4 days.

They eat lots of hay, and a nice treat arrived for them today from the hay experts!
They are also getting about 3 or 4 handfuls of SS pellets a day. Think i will cut down on this and give them more veg.

if theyve never had the other types of veg before introduce just one type at a time and give a few days in between to make sure thier little tummies get used to each new stuff and start with tiny amounts too and build them up gradually :)

i give grapes to my pair every now and then, i think they are high in sugar so what you are feeding sounds ok, cant see them getting fat off the odd grape

I usually give Boris cucumber and lettuce because, frankly, those are the only veggies he actually eats! Favourite fruits are apple, banana, grape and peach, but these are only given to him in small amounts and only on Fridays :) He also likes raisins a lot.
