  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

One of my buns has died

We've just found Millie dead in the summer house this morning :(:(:(:(:( I haven't got a clue why, no obvious signs and she was fine yesterday :cry::cry::cry::cry:

Our vets in Winsford said they dont do postmortems, I know it's advisable as we have 5 other buns that all live together.

Can anyone advise a vets in the Cheshire area who would be able to do one? We've devastated

Really sorry. How sad.:( Hope you manage to find out how Millie died. Thinking of you.

I am really sorry

Capel is in Cheshire and she has an excellent Vet. Try PMing her.

Its a bit difficult to say this but in order to minimise corrupting the PM results you need to refrigerate not freeze poor wee Millie's body

I've only just now come online. I'm so very sorry. I've pm'd you. Birchheath vets in Tarporley .

I use Cranmore but my rabbit savvy vet is not there for 2 weeks. Not sure what the others are like. Capel's vet is very good.
