pretty sure its weld mesh. You get it in lots of sizes so you have to specifiy the hole size and wire thickness.
 
We use half inch weldmesh, we can't remember the gauge, but the smaller the number the stronger the wire- we probably used medium weight, which was about 14 gauge.

I'd say for a really strong run you need at least 16 gauge. Some companies (including Happy Hutch) use 19 gauge which isn't really strong enough IMO
 
You can get it from Wilkinsons for £2.99 and it is called cage mesh. It is a lot more expensive in B&Q for the same stuff.
