Post Neutering- How to encourage drinking?

I brought my boy, Bay home last night following his castration. Last night he ate some carrot, apple and hay and I saw him drink some water. Today he has eaten some carrot and hay but hasnt touched his usual pellet food. Also dont think he has drank anything, the level on the water bottle hasnt gone down but I have also put in a bowl of water so he may have had a drink of that. Does anyone have any ideas on how to encourage him to drink?

I know others on here add a small splash of boiled water to the buns drinking water, which seems to be a hit with the buns!

You could add a tiny bit of apple juice to the water.

You could also try to syringe a tiny amount of cool boiled water if all else fails.

some bunnys get a bit fussy when they've been neutered & wont eat pellets (sooty ate pellets but didn't eat hay for a week ). Make sure he's got lots of lovely fresh veg to eat if he's off his pellets keep and eye on the water. You can add apple or cranberry juice to water to make it more appealing but I'm not sure I'd recomend that post op. Someone here suggested once the water you boil your veg in (cooled and salt free of course).

Thank you for the ideas, I have actually got some apple juice in the fridge, i'll let it get to room temp before i add it to water. It must be fate, not usually something we have in!

Try offering him a bowl instead of the bottle. And if he's eating greens put some pieces of veg into his water bowl - that normally works for mine! x

Thanks, I added some apple juice to his bowl of water and put some veg in it so he did drink some, he has even eaten a few pellets too!
