The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. A lump has apeared

Cyberdog

Warren Scout
Hi,
Tonight I noticed a lump the size of a marble has appeared just on top of the rabbit’s shoulder blade, which I would say was definitely not their last night. It doesn’t seem to be worrying her and I can get hold of it. The strange thing is, my other rabbit has a lump in the exact same place over both front shoulder blades, but hers is half the size. Could these be muscles or glands of some sort?? Any suggestions as to what this might be.

Thanks?

 was it recently? if so it could be just a reaction to the vaccine and nothing to worry about! the other thing is vhd ! thats the other jab!

 it could be just the vax ... if you are worried go to the vet but as its only 2 weeks since the jabs and both buns have it ,its likely just a reaction to it. nothing to worry about.. just keep an eye on it anyway and if it gets bigger etc then a vet trip might be neccessary..

My rabbit has a lump in the same place. it is quite mobile and i had noticed it 2 weeks ago before martha had her jabs, it was checked again last thursday and the vet we saw isn't sure what it is, martha is booked in to be neutered on monday 28th and the vet is going to remove the lump then. They are hopefull that it is a cyst. My dog has a similar lump which after a biopsy was found to be a collection of fat tissues.

Hi:wave:
Sorry for the delay in getting back. How did the op go with Martha, and the cyst removal, hope all is well?
Did the vet charge you any extra for the removal of the cyst, as he was operating anyway?
The reason I ask is that my vet has just said the same thing about removing it when he neuters her on friday.

It was two weeks ago now, and the other jab was like you say for VHD.

Paddy had the exact same thing, it was due to the vacc. It went down after a couple of weeks, the vet did tell us to call if it hadn't disappeared after that time so worth giving them a quick call. But I'm sure it's fine!
