Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Hi Just looked at Flopsey and she seems to have done something to her claw as it is bleeding.what should I do? Are rabbits claws just like cats that will bleed alot anyway?. any help would be really greatful.

If she's bleeding from the quick then try putting cornflour on it. My bun had his claw ripped out & was fine

Yeah its stopped bleeding now. wasn't sure if it was something to worry about or not. Rabbits must have the same type of claws as cats as they bleed forever to. thanks for your help:D

 our french lop damaged her claw when she jumped off the sofa:shock:
blood everywhere:shock::shock: we took her to the vet as it bled through 3 changes of bandage.. the vet just cut the nail and redressed it and it was fine:) just looks worse than it is doesnt it?

I've had buns rip them out too, its truely amzing how much blood there is. Cornflour as suggested or a product caused quick stop can help.

I think its because she keeps jumping up and down from the window sill and gets so excited when she sees me coming up the path to come in that she bangs herself silly rabbit. but got to love them a:D
