Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

I saw my rabbit laying on the ground with his head down to the side and his eyes partly rolled back only for about 2 seconds though. when i would touch him he would be normally laying again. This happned about 2 or 3 times the fast few days. Is this an ear infection? Im probably going to go to the vet on friday.

Have you had a look inside his ears to see if you can see any wax?The eyes rolling back in his head sounds worrying.I would take him to the vet ASAP

I agree with the flopped out bit, its really scary if you've never seen it before. Almost looks like they are dead.

 im sure its just a really chilled bun  ours do it alot ..very worrying though..they are just dozing.. have read somewhere that buns dont sleep with their eyes closed so maybe it was a siesta:lol::lol:

Yea it did. Maybe its not an ear infection because he goes to his favorite spot and flops out :p So its not uncontrollable.

Is there a test at the vets to see if he really does have an ear infection?
Just in case

does his eye looks a bit glazed and wiggle about? it might be that he's asleep, i've got a video of my bun doing it, it looks hideous! i must upload it.

not sure about a test though, sorry.
