Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Monty's "under the weather" U/D had his dental

Mama Doe
My Monty is not himself at the mo. Can;t quite put my finger on it.
On sunday there was a "near miss"....as Monty was walking in front of o/h my o/h clipped him only very slightly and I don;t know whether it's a bit of shock still. he runs up and down stairs and I've checked him all over, no flinching at all.

He's eating ok....but not eating as much hay as usual.....he's drinking and pooing ok. although poo is slightly smaller than usual and darker...not golden brown. He seems rather "mopesy" (if you understand what I mean!). He chases Audrey for food as usual....he doesn;t seem his normal self.

I've checked his tummy and it seems ok...no gurglin either.

I'm booking him in to see the vet tomorrow night, just to be on the safe side.
Just wondered can buns be given a pick me up/tonic?

Thanks
Andrea

doesn't sound like there is anything wrong at all. If he's not eating the right amt. of hay, it could be his teeth, I would check his molar.

Thanks all.

We took him to the vet tonight and, he's lost a little bit of weight too - she looked at his teeth and she says there is "signs of something", so he's booked in for a dental tomorrow morning.
Bless my Monty...he is munching on a little hay at the moment. So at least we have caught it early enough...

Could we have some vibes for Monty's dental tomorrow please?

Thanks

Thanks all!
I collected them back from the vets tonight. Monty has had his dental and Audrey was playing "nursie" for him.
He is drinking ok, just waiting for him to eat. Although the vet said he had eaten and pooed and weed (otherwise they wouldn;t have let him home!).
We're on bunny watch at the mo!!!

We've got to go back on Saurday for a check up.

Thanks again!
Andrea
