these are indiffenitly staying with me, i dont think the doe is pregnant i would think that theyve been reabsorbed because of her being under weight.

Raven Rexs
16-07-2008, 11:32 AM

I love the buck and if it helps and if you like I would give him a home if you are pushed for space, once he's well enough to travel. He'd have a huge secure garden to play in, a shed to sleep in, a bunny savvy vet nearby and lots of neutered bunny friends to cheer him up. You've done really well to get them out safely - what was that woman thinking of?

Do you know who gave them to her? I'd imagine to get that thin it would take a little over 2 weeks or did she not feed them at all? Either way if I were you I'd get onto the breeder and ask how on earth these hares got into that situation, I thought anyone who bred hares actually cared about 'preserving the breed' and wouldn't let them go to a 'pet home' because of their special needs!

Gah! I'd get onto the RSPCA as well as bascially her offloading them to you she thinks is her 'get out of jail free card' but I'd explain the situation and tell them the level of neglect these animals arrived to you in! Dear only knows what state the other animals are in if the RSPCA threatened action!:cry::cry:

I agree too on calling the RSPCA, here's the number: 0300 1234 999.
Please do it, it helps if they have several complaints.

Are you going to neuter them and keep them as pets?

Raven Rexs
16-07-2008, 01:31 PM
they werent at a pet home it was a breeder sold them to a breeder.
also there are a few people that make very good pet owners for hares.

Azraelm
16-07-2008, 01:34 PM
What's your point? :? Are you saying you're not going to ring the RSPCA? If conditions were that bad i don't see why you wouldn't- it's just a phone call.

Amy & Amber

Yes there is a point, because the more calls logged they have the better the case they have against someone if it comes to a prosecution.

Raven Rexs
16-07-2008, 02:33 PM
just got off the phone to them to say i had bought the hares off of her and all they said we are already aware of the situation with this person and are looking into it.

I think the point of telling the rspca is so they could see the condition they are in. When they go to her place they obviously won't see them as they are now with you.

Question you breed mini rexs why are the ones your selling on your site normal furred and why do u always have rabbits for sale?

AllForTheAnimals
17-07-2008, 04:13 PM
Thanks for the link

For the questions
1. this was an accidental breeding that is why they aren't priced as high
2. because I have strict policy on how I sell my rabbits and too who gets them that makes them stick around longer also I have lots of extra space and can breed anytime so that helps

Hope that awnswers your questions I have also asked you something on the pm

I thought long and hard for them to mean something from thier situation:cry:

well turns out the doe was pregnant at 4.11pm today she had her first baby she wasnt very sure what to do after eating the after birth so i stayed with her and helped dry them with her blanket, and when she gave birth i brought the baby to her whilst she layed down she seems quite content on cleaning herself now so im going to leave her to it now:)
