My new bunny will not stop eating the pine shavings bedding and I can `t do anything about it. She has things to chew but she still eats them. Will any harm come to her from eating them? Please let me know!

Those wood shavings are not good for any bun as beddings. The micro wood powder can get into her nose, affects her breathing.

I used to use those wood shavings, I got rid of it many years ago.

Then what do you use instead? Do you just not use any bedding?

I was told by our pet shop to get shavings and they all got stuck in Lolas fur and she got in a right mess.

Now she has newspaper and a piece of vet bed and her hay. I got a huge piece of vet bed from B&M for £4.

What is vet bed? And what could I use that Molly will not eat? We just took out the pine shavings and replaced them with an old sheet for just the morning and then we are going to the pet sotre later. She even bites on the sheet! What could I give her as bedding that she won `t ingest?

Vet Bed is like fake sheepskin. I just line the bottom of Lolas cage with newspaper. She seems to like an old flanelette pillow case too to lie on and you can get some little blankets from Poundland that have paws on them which are quite good as easily washed. I dont spend a fortune - she took a liking to a cushion case we had and nuzzles it so she uses that as a bed when out in the front room,

I will ask the pet store associates about vet bed. So do you line the cage with news paper and put vet bed on top? I will give it a try I am willing to try anything ever since I heard how bad the shavings were.

I line the bottom of the indoor cage with newpaper, and then in a corner put a Lola sized piece of vet bed etc and then put her hay next to it.

She can pick n choose then.
