Newly baled hay

When can you feed it to rabbits and piggies? We have had some new hay delivered at work but its not long been baled how long do you have to leave before you can use it?

I read on a hay website that if it's just been cut it should be left for six months before feeding to a rabbit...i'm not sure how true that is??

We've had this issue come up before.

The conclusion we came to is that new hay is fine to feed as long as it has dried out properly...I decant new bales into used megazorb bags and fluff it up so it dries properly.

New hay contains more vitamins, minerals, etc, but old hay is more fiberous.
