Found a good vet!

finally! My vets are good, but my vet has moved, and the stand in is rubbish with buns. They do VERY cheap neuters (£30) and cheap Vaccines (£11-£13) but when it comes to problems...there not so good.

My dogs go to a different vet, in Tiptree. 10 minutes away, i never went there with the buns because they wanted to charge £60 for a spay and £55 for a castration, but seeing as ive now done all that somwhere else, i thought id ask if they had any rabbity vets.

She said there is a part owner of the vets who works there and she is specialised in exotics and is veryr abbit savvy, she has had alot of experience with E.C and parasites in rabbits and she would definatly be able to take a good look at my Peanut

shes not in for a week, as shes on holiday but im relieved!

. know what you mean, it gives such peace of mind when you find a vet that has an interest in buns. i took me ages to find mine.
x

That's GREAT news, Sarah Jane!!! I hope she can get your poor Peanut sorted out when she gets back!!! :D :D

I hope so. Today i watched him get up all stiff and he dragged his back leg behind him for a few seconds, and then he was okay.

im not sure if im right to be worried, or if he was just stiff........

my cousin is a vet nurse and shes got soem books at the surgery and she slooking intot hat for me today x

Lola gets up like that sometimes:? She stretches quite a bit actually. I hoping it's just another Lola-ism. Coupled with Peanuts other symptoms i think you're best just keeping an eye on him and hopefully your new vet will give you some answers and even better...a cure:D best of luck:D

I bet I know which vet it is! I think she's quite good - I used to see her with the guinea pigs before I got the bunnies. I switched to Wickford in the end, but I do rate her, if it's the one I'm thinking of. :)

Hi SJ not been on for a few weeks due to house move. Whats the matter with Peanut? My buns are a bit stiff for a few mins after getting out their hutch but I get the impression that Peanut has some other symptons.

Just an update on Lucky Shes still wonderful & has just moved into a 6 ft 3 enclosure Ive just built indoors.. Her future hubby has just been neutered & they already love each other (through the bars of course lol)

oh wow would love to see some piccies of them as a couple! its her first birthday on 10th august! bless her!

Well tbh im not sure whats wrong with him, he was a 100% healthy bun until around 2 months ago, when hes weight just dropped off him, he weighs 1.7kg now which is nothing. Im not ruling out E.C and i am panacuring him as a precaution, aparantly it can be spread via the mum through the placenta, but Jelly is fine, if i was jelly who had the symptoms i would recommend panacuring Lucky...but seeing as its peanut i wouldnt think its any cause to worry.

Will let u know of the outcome though, when he sees a rabbit specialist soon.
