Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

boys are usually quite good.....get him some soft litter like carefresh to stop it scratching his tender areas. Make sure he's got a nice selection of his favourite veg and some tasty hay/dried grass. He might not eat much for the first couple of days...they seem to prefer soft stuff like veg after...It took sooty three days to start eating hay again. Check his bits daily to make sure they aren't getting swollen or inflamed. If your vet offers a check up after a week I'd take them up on it.

ps...don't starve him before his op, bunnys should be fed as normal.

You'd need an old blanket or newspaper to keep the bunny on. You can't use sawdust or hay as it will stick to the wound. Best to put the hay in a rack. Bunny will need to be inside. You can get the probiotic from The Hay Experts or most petshops should sell it.

thanks for your kind wishes dropped floppy off this morning, my 4 year old daughter is distraught convinced he will wake up on the operating table(dont know where shes got that idea from!)
