Advice Needed: Male or Female?

Need some advice really.
Our normal set up in the house is 1 female french lop who doesn't really like any other buns full stop so has to be out on her own, a bonded pair of buns and we have unfortunately just lost a 7 year old single female who could be left unattended as she was so well behaved but generally didn't like other buns.
We are looking at maybe getting another single bun to fill the void she has left but as we are looking for a single who will be on his/her own we were wondering what sex to get as our initial fears are that a male, although not in contact with any of our other buns, may cause problems with our existing male.
Everyone is spayed/neutered btw.
What do you guys think? should we play safe in setting our sights on a girl or would it be ok to have a boy
(There is no way that our single french lop will bond though as she is far too independant- so that is out of the question) hence why we are looking for another bun that can't be with another bun and has to be single

I would think as long as they are both neutered and aren't actually mixing together then another male would be fine. Lots of people have seperate pairs/bunnies living in close proximity.

Thats what we thought......
We had big shenanigans when our french lop came in as she wanted to let rip at the other girls even when she just caught sight of them (which thankfully HAS died down a bit now)- we had to put a barrier up between them so they couldn't see each other....Oh, what joy it was.
We weren't sure if males were worse than this or whether it was purely down to the luck of the draw
