Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Myxi vaccination

Does anyone know if it is safe to re vaccinate for myxi as soon as 2 months after a myxi vaccine? The reason for this is because when the bunnies had their myxi jab done the vet gave it all subcut and i'm now worried they are not fully covered. Neither of the vets where I work know, so I thought I would see if someone on here as any experience of this.
Thanks in advance :D

Yes it's fine to get it done again,

I had a bunny revaccinated 2 weeks ago after she had been vaccinated incorrectly a month or so earlier

Thanks for the reply :D. Its so irritating when the vets do it incorrectly. Thats the reason I don't vaccinate them myself as i'm not confident doing the intradermal part of the vaccine.

Yeah my bunny had in twice in two weeks:? The vet was newly qualified and in tears bless her she phone everyday for two weeks to check on him too.

I got my myxi jab done last night on bugs.

He injected some into just below her ear and some into her neck is this the correct way? thanks.

Ideally you should just have the 10% intradermal part of the vaccine given again rather than the entire thing.

i'd also insist the vets did it FOC due to their f*** up.
