but she never stops loving him

my poor boy, you can see how tiny he is now

his back does look like its bent weirdly :(:(:( so sory he's poorly, I hope he perks up soon...do you know what might be up with him yet?

no my usual vet isnt at my surgery anymore and the current one, well he is nice, and he is carign as opposed to trying to get money out ofyou...but he just isnt worried. he just thinks peanut has sore hocks and thats the end of it

that's no good :( has he had blood tests or owt? just explain that you feel certain something is wrong and you don't mind paying the fees of investigating what's up, to put your mind at rest. my vets are always telling me the potential cost and asking me if i mind - as if i'd let them be poorly cos i didnt want to pay

anyway you've probably done that already but good luck finding out what's troubling him x x x

they want to finish his course of meds before they start looking for other problems

at first i suspected EC... but after reading about it etc im sure its a spine abnormality, i dont know if hes injured himself sumhow or if its grown funny but to me it looks hunched

awwww hunny you really can see how different he is :cry::cry: deffo not built to be so light :cry::cry:

definatly, and he always looks so happy in his piccies doesnt he? or nosy or..something :(

now hes just 'nothing'. he doesnt want to know. he looks tiny...but then hes even smaller cus of his fur :(

oh my poor little man :( you can deffinatly see a change in him hun its heartbreaking seeing them like that and you just dont know whats wrong :( his spine to me looks a little odd :(

its seems both our babies are ill i hope you find out whats wrong with him hun so he can get the correct treatment so he can make a recovery sending lots of vibes and a hug to you xxx

Oh hun, it's so sad to see these piccies :( I really really hope they find out what is up with him, often the worst part is the not knowing :?

Have you thought about going elsewhere with him to get a second opinion? It might out your mind at rest :)

Thinking of you and sending lots and lots of vibes for the gorgeous lad xxx

That is very upsetting to see so I can't imagine what you must be feeling. Is he still eating??? I think i've missed a thread somewhere along the line...

just echoing the is he eating post; couple of years ago i had an agouti lop called walnut. He was neutuered and everything seemed fine. couple of weeks later he started to sit like this, and was off his food. he was still eating but not a lot. The vets had him in to investigate, and when they opened him up his guts had basically shut down and were really messed up. He never fully recovered from his neutuer and i let him go under the GA. Was really hard as I was driving when the call came through, had to pull over and make the decision.
But I think the hunching can be a sign of stomach discomfort, not wanting to worry you but worth monitoring his eating. Guessing the obvious teeth check has been done? sorry he is feeling poorly hun, his moult doesn't help either, always makes them look scruffy. big  to peanut xx jess

Agree with above.. but i'm not convinced that it is actual spinal damage? He could be sitting a particular way because his hocks are painful and with that and his weight loss his spine will be far more prominent. My lop has dental problems and lost A LOT of weight very quickly recently. He has refused to eat soaked pellets previously but I continued to offer them to him (Science selective soaked in cool boiled water- not a mash but soaked enough to be soft) and he just decided to start eating them one day! He has been eating properly for a week now and is already putting weight back on. He looked not that different from Peanut Butter and being a big rabbit naturally it was quite a shock. Obviously with excessive weight loss you have to be careful of any other internal problems that may have arised.

his teeth are fine, and hes had them checked every 6 month since he was a baby. vet said they are perfect. It is difficult to tell whether the way hes sitting is down to his spine or his hocks, but i just noticed he is very curved on his back... jelly isnt like that at all, i know they r dif breeds but it just doesnt look right.

i know those piccies r horrible bcus it just isnt my boy :( ur all used to see happy bounding around photos, and he just looks so sad. The vet wont do anything until hes course of meds are up, but after that i am going t ask them 2 refer me 2 the rabbit specialist clinic thats over an hour away which is connected 2 my branch to see if they can work out whats wrong with my lad

:(

it breaks my heart to see him like this

Aww bless him, he looks so different :( Really hope you can find out what's wrong with your special boy soon xx

I know what it feels like,my second hamster Curry died very young and got really ill really quick. It was horrible to watch him. I couldn't stand it. It wasn't my Curry anymore. :(

I do really hope he will be fine!
