Growing specialist grasses

Never tried any of those varieties but I did get some timothy seed from West Wales Willows and have grown it in a tub. It's not been very successful though as it's only got to about 2 inches high and then seems to have stopped!

The only reason I thought of it was because some bird seed fell into my honeysuckle pot and has grown, so cut it today and gave it to my buns and they went mad for it.

I've never thought about growing grass for them, but might give it a go.

I've grown some of those Fescues and the Cocksfoot (Orchard Grass). I also grow Timothy but it does best in the garden and will grow to a good height. Mine has heads on and is ready for cutting now. The Orchard grows well too. I only use the Fescues for my mixes.

The Hay Experts - what a wonderful website, wish I had seen it before. Thanks for the tip will put it in my bookmarks. :D
