Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Bunny just neutered

Liloupricou

Young Bun
Hi all,

Snoopy has been neutered on Thursday, since he came back he's been kept inside his cage (he's a house rabbit and has normaly the freedom of few parts of the house). He seems ok, eating properly, going to the loo as normal.

I was wondering how long we should keep him in his cage? I don't want to let him run free until I'm sure it's safe.

Thanks for your help
Vanessa and Snoopy

I am sure he will be fine to have some time out of his cage, as long as he looks as tho he is healing well down below.

Boy bunnies seem to recover from being castrated fairly quickly.

i was recommend a couple of days rest in his cage but mine wasn't having any of it! he didn't seem bothered or affected by having the op, he even did binkies the same night and i was panicking about him popping his stitches! as long as there's nothing to climb all over and possibly bump or upset the sore area, i'm sure a little out time wouldn't do any harm.
