  • Please Note - Medical Advice

    Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

    You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

    We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

    Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Smartie (Dora's baby) has stopped eating

Alpha Buck
Yesterday I seperated Smartie and Murphy from Dora. They are 8.5 weeks old and are both going to the same person.
Last night they were fine and eating at half 10 when I checked them.
This morning Smartie is very poorly, she is sitting hunched up with her eyes closed. I put her back in with Dora and Dora licked her all over but Smartie doesn't respond.
My vet is coming at half 9 to treat Smartie, please keep your fingers crossed for her :cry:

She just had a massive feed from Dora :shock:
Well thats a lesson learnt, they will be 9 weeks on Mon and i thought weaning now would be fine.
I think I will wait til they are 10 weeks :D

So glad she as fed of her mummy, looks like she is definately a mummies girl:D
:lol::lol::lol:

Well all are back as a family now! :D
Future owners have been informed that as Smartie feels not ready to be a grown up girl yet it may be a couple more weeks!
She is eating by herself again now :D
