  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

I got this from the rabbit welfare website and have got most of it.

I'm not sure that metacam is available, other than at the vet.

I have:

For tummy troubles, I only use cooled boiled water, and pineapple tablets. Anything more serious and it's off to the vet.

Fibreplex
Bio Lapis

Cotton Pads and Q-Tips
Xeno 450
Nail Clippers
Baby Wipes
Grooming Brush

Also going to add Sudocream and Corn Flower

where would i get fibreplex, biolapis, and xeno 450 from? (and what are they used for?).
x

Fibreplex is a paste to aid normal gut motion - it's full of fibre and pro-biotics, can be used after stasis and if poos are incorrectly formed ie too hard. 3-5 day course.

Bio Lapis is a powder that is added to water, it contains probiotics that promote good gut bacteria, can help after neutering or stasis or for young buns. 3 day course.

Xeno 450 is a spot on treatment for mites. 1 off, repeated after 2 and 4 weeks.

www.vetuk.co.uk sells all three and many other products, I ordered from them recently and got a great service.

As with all medicines before giving any to your buns you should seek veterinary advice :)
