  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

I've just noticed this on Bea's ear

On her right hear, it's pink and no fur grows on it. Does anyone know what it could be? Do you think I should take her to the vets?

She doesnt like me touching her so I've not had a chance to feel it, I will try later when it's stopped raining.

But from what I can see, it doesn't look like a lump it just looks like part of her ear but no fur on it.

Usually that stems from an old wound, scar tissue wont normally support fur growth.

I've just checked and it's definately not a lump. So you don't think it's anything to be worried about?
She's just probably knicked her ear and the furs not been able to grow back?

I'd just keep an eye on it, that it dosn't get any bigger or any more patches appear. Are the inside of her ears clean?

Yeah they're clean, there's no other patches anywhere else but I will keep an eye on it!

Thanks Sooz! :D
