Getting a second rabbit

neilp83

Young Bun
Hi, I have a male Mini-Lop (roughly 9 weeks old) who is currently being trained as a house rabbit (struggling with the toilet aspect but I'm sure he will get there!). I have had him for a week.

I have read that it is best to get a companion for him.

I was wondering when the best time to get his companion would be. Should I wait until he is neutered? Or will this create problems when introducing him to the new addition? I also don't want to risk having a house full of babies!

Thanks for any help.

Hello there,

His best bet for a partner would be a neutered girlie.

I would suggest you wait until he has been neutered himself, that way his hormones will have settled and he won't hump the life out of his girlfriend.

A lot of rescues will help find a girlfriend for him and carry out the bonding for you.

Good luck,
Vanessa xx

Thanks Vanessa
