  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Scraggy French Lop

Prettyprincess

Young Bun
Hello my French Lop is now nearly 11 weeks old, and she is the most gorgeous thing ever but she has really scraggy fur, she looks like a rat when will she get proper fur?

I bought Will at 12weeks and she was half baby fur/half adult.Bought B at 11weeks and she was all baby fur.She was rescued by the breeder i got her from from someone who didn't know much about rabbits[im guessing] and she was very under weight for her age.She was in isolation when i fell in love with her.She was so small i double checked she was a frenchie.I am wondering now if in fact she was younger than they thought and thats why she was so small and still had baby fur.She is 19months now and seems to be getting bigger and her appetite has increased which also adds to the theory shes younger than i think. She was only 11lbs when weighed at vets at beginning of year but i bet shes not now, although shes definatly not the 15lbs Willow was!!
