  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Willow's wobbly tooth

:( Poor Willow stopped eating over the weekend - teeth again. I only took him for a dental 3 weeks ago. Anyway the vet said one of his molars was wobbly and she managed to loosen it out - that's the second one that's come out now. He's lost a lot of weight - about 300g since his last vet visit. He's been syringe fed over the weekend and he's had the usual meds and some more syringe feeding but not much interest in food yet. I have another appointment booked for tomo if he doesn't start eating and pooing.

Anyone else had buns whose teeth have fallen out? Is it old age? Willow is a OAP bunny.

A couple of Mo's were wobbly and were taken out. It did take a while for his eating to return to normal. It is so worrying isn't it. When Mo had his out I was in and out the vets all the time. I think Mistletoe's might have fallen out although I could have just made that up. Hope little Willow perks up soon, poor little guy. How old is he? Mo is 4ish but his teeth are manky apparently.
