Rabbit Savvy vets in Rugby...

coco1200

Warren Veteran
can anyone reccommend a Vet clinic to take my buns to in Rugby?

im not sure i want to carry on going to my local one in Daventry!!!

Oh no, what happened?! Do you use Kenwood or Daventry Vet? :?

I was recommended either Rainsbrook or Bilton Vets in Rugby for my OH's tortoise, could be worth giving both a ring and doing the 20 questions thing

The Animal House, Rugby, they are very good especially when Paula is over there

I'd go with this one Coco, I hear that Paula is very good, and if Snowy recommends her you can't go far wrong ;)

If you don't want to say on the forum, would you please PM me if you have had a bad experience with a Daventry vet :?

it was the Kenwood surgery

last time i went there was a check up after oscar was neuterd,
and the vet there seemed a little too agrresive with the bun for my liking.

seemed like he didnt want to be there, and was just trying to do his job as quick as possible, and didnt take much care in how much he was stressing out the rabbit. :?

which one do you usually go to?

im going to give The Animal House a go :D

Daventry Veterinary Clinic on Drayton Fields Ind Est... they are really good, not cheap but they are so lovely - Ania is the vet I see, she's great with buns :)

I had the same experience at Kenwood I'm afraid, must have been the same guy :?

Hi  Not sure how far you want to travel but I can't recommend highly enough the Cat and Rabbit Care Clinic at Duston in Northampton. I live in Milton Keynes but I travel half an hour to go to them. I would imagine you're only half an hour from Duston but from the other direction. Simon (the main vet) is just fantastic and his reputation spreads far and wide. As their name suggests, they ONLY see cats and rabbits, plus a few piggies and tiny furries such as rats etc. They are the loveliest people and treat the buns as if they were their own and their knowledge and experience of buns is just something else. I trust them 110% and I'm a right old fusspot!

I have heard of them, seen their website and thought they looked brilliant :D

Good to hear too because I think they are my emergency vet when my one is closed :)

Yes, Tracy from Rabbit and Giunea Pig Wefare uses the vet in Duston and she swears by them

it probably was!
to be quite fair, he's the one who told me basically that veterinary is rubbish, and the pay is terrible!
commited? i dont think so!!

I was advised not to have Bobbin vaccinated against VHD as he had never seen a case of it in his career :? That maybe so, but is it because most are vaccinated, or because he has not diagnosed it correctly, or because it such a fast killer they don't get the rabbit to the vet in time??!! :censored:

he really is terrible...

when i was worrid about Oscars breathing, he said his breathing was top notch, but gave him an antibiotic 'just in case', then i asked him to check out his nails, to see if they needed cutting, and he said they were fine and didnt need doing - WHILE HE WAS CUTTING THEM!!

personally, hes in the job to make money, not the love.
