Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

    You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Lots of people here know more than me but my guess would be flystrike or blocked scent glands...either way it should see a vet....

Hi tinsel

Yes! They bite, the only comparison I can make is that sometimes I "bite" my hand or knuckles when they're itchy & real scratching doesn't work :shock::lol:

Perhaps bunny has fleas or mites?

sounds like a major possibility do you think a vets is a must to check it out?:?

thanks again for advice though appreciated:)

I have 2 rabbits who hate getting brushed and when they are moulting they get really itchy and bite scratch and pull fur from them bottoms, its there why of trying to itch parts of them that they cant reach properly.

If your friends rabbit is not moulting then it may be a case of going to the vet and checking to be on the safe side.
:wave::D

It could also be a case of fur mite as these make the rabbit very itchy and they shed fur constantly, hope this helps:wave::D

thanks fudgemallow for that i have told my friend all of these answers and was very appreciative not heard what the outcome but i know he took her to the vet.

thanks everyone who replied much appreciated.
