  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Young Bun
Morning

Last night my rabbit was running around and then he stoppped and is lifting his front leg - i had a look at it and he didnt like it - so i put him back away to rest - this morning he still wont put pressure on it.

He is still eating and drinking as much as before - what should I do?

 i would check his paw to check he hasn't got a thorn in his foot or something stuck between his toes or cut himself. if not i would take him to the vets.

Nothing caught in his paw

I have rung the vets and got him in this morning at 9am. He was running around the house last night and came zooming down the stairs just wondering if that has done anything to him

Poor little thing

Actually i think i know what it might be! My bunny did this just this weekend and actually tore a nail off completely!! he lifted his paw up too like yours (like when they're gonna clean their ears) and that means they're in pain!
Make sure you disinfect the wound and take him to the vet asap for antibiotics and painkiller shots!!! Good luck!!
