I think it is for a bun that you have adopted from a rescue and kept, otherwise all rescues could send pics of some of the rabs & the stories that we get in. Better check with Laura:D

Yeh we were trying to keep it more along the lines of rescue bunnies, so perhaps your storyabout pebbles would be more fitting :thumb:

Thank you for the donation :thumb: :D

Ok here goes, I hope this isn't too long, I can edit if it is.

Poppy’s Story.

It was about 2 years ago when I first met Poppy. I had adopted Gus from Briar Patch Rescue a few weeks earlier, and had to go back and choose a girlfriend for him. Eve, the lady who ran Briar Patch told me the had a black lionhead in, but she had some “issues”
Poppy was originally bought as a present for a 2yr old child, she had been kept in a hutch in the child’s bedroom, and she had been treated like a cuddly toy! This had made her very scared of been taken out of the hutch and also aggressive. She was handed in when she bit the child.

So I go to the rescue to meet her, first off she bites me when I try and stroke her in the hutch and was making so much noise, almost barking. Eve takes her out of the hutch and put her in the run, I sat with her a while and even managed a stroke. At this point Eve’s young daughter came over and said “I’m not allowed to touch that rabbit, that’s the one that makes Mummy bleed” By this point I felt so sorry for Poppy I knew I had to have her…who else would, and I could always wear gloves.

The next day I went back to the rescue with Gus for the bonding. It went well, and the next day I took home the newly bonded pair to live as house rabbits in my spare room, now the bunny room.

At first Poppy was scared and thumped when we went near, but we sat with her and she saw Gus coming to us for fuss (and food) soon she was joining him, gradually she stopped the growling and grunting and would let us stroke her. Now she is the most affectionate bunny I have ever met, she loves a fuss and will snuggle up on the sofa with us. She seem to have a special bond with my partner Dave, she will always go to him and gets excited when she hears his keys in the door.

I am so glad I took a chance on her and the transformation is amazing, she just needed a bit of security and love. She still gets scared if she hears children shouting, but overall she is a happy bunny.

I had been searching the internet for days for a friend for my little domino. Just four months old he had been neutered and was lonely.
The RSPCA for Bury St Edmonds was my next search, nearly 2 hours away it was a bit further than planned, but as soon as I logged onto their website, I saw ‘rabbit of the month’. There was a beautiful tri coloured young girl, named Melissa. I fell in love with her instantly and was up meeting her within a few hours. I took Domino with me, and he adored her straight away. They shared a carrier on the way home, and within half an hour there was mutual grooming.

I re named by beautiful new girl Pebbles, because of her markings. She was very timid, and wouldnt come near me. She made frightened sounds before i even approached the hutch, she was petrified. I was told that she was abandoned, and when she was returned to her owners, they said they had never seen her before. They believe she had been kept with her brother, but they never found him. Pebbles was lucky.

Finally almost a year later, she will come and sit in my lap to recieve a treat. She has come on so well, and i feel so happy when i see her binky with Domino after what she went through

If they have to come from an actual rescue that means I can't do Elwood's story :(

Can I do Merediths story? She came from a rubbish rescue. Or is the whole point to promote rescue centres as I haven't got many at all that came through rescue in the traditional sense?

Sounds like Merediths story would be good. :thumb:

I think that we just thought as we were raising money for a resuce, buns from rescue's would be good :)

Hi, My name is Eddie bun. I am a retired Porn Star (but still practice every day to keep my buncepts in tip top condition) and house share a detached lurrve shack with an illegal immigrant large French man.:D

I went to rngpwelfare in June 2005 after my owners could not take care of me any more:cry:. I was well loved and sad to say good bye to my previous owners:(. Tracy and Shaun very kindly gave me free boarding’s whilst the social sorted out my benefits and put me on the housing and adoption waiting list, but they did discover that my name Izzy did not suit my sex as I was in fact a boy bun and not a girlie like my previous owner had thought I was:oops:. Tracy and Shaun decided to rename me Eddie after Eddie Izzard so I did keep part of my previous name but also got a more manly name to suit my sex and character of stud bun.;):D

After having the snip (courtesy of Tracy & Shaun) not that it has stopped my manly powers or urges ;):D:lol:, I was reserved to go to a new home. At rngpwelfare’s open day, I met loads of hoomans to which I wooed with my irresistible charms and reckon many would of smuggled me up their jumpers given half a chance. Un-fortunately for me (but fortunate for my now owner:D), my reservation fell through and I was once more in search of a new home.

Tracy advertised my CV once again and that phone call finally came from a lady that had fallen for my charms at rngpwelfare open day. Before long I was chauffeured to my new home where I am very happy:D, have paid off the mortgage:D, got the garden how I like it, got the hoomans house how I like it:D, plenty of shoes and thongs to chew :D(those hoomans never learn to pick them up lol) and most of all, I have my Marcelly big bum to share my nights on the tiles and leisure pursuits during the day:love:

I am top bun in this household, it’s all about me, I come first and what I say goes which is what a buns life should be :D:D:thumb:

This is Mose. I adopted him from C.A.R.R.O.T (Care and Rehoming Rabbits Of Tayside). I went there to find a friend for my own bunny as i didnt want her to be on her own and thought it would be great to give a rescue bunny a good home. My husband and I were quite taken with Mose so Jim and Lynda who run the rescue bonded the two for us and they are a very good match. Mose had a very bad start to life before he came to C.A.R.R.O.T.

Here is how he started out in Lynda's words

"Mose came from a girl who had three adult buns, two of which had bred and produced three tiny baby buns. Two of the adult buns and the babies were kept in her living room in two small dog crates, the other was kept outside in a chicken run. The buns were fed on carrots and apples, nothing else, no hay at all. The girl also had two uncontrollable dogs which she kept for breeding. The conditions in which these animals were kept were, to say the least, disgusting, the stench in the house was unbearable. Mose was terrified of humans and dogs when we got him, it took a while for him to realise he was now safe. We had him neutered and he settled fine."

Myself and my husband have had Mose for over 2 years now. He's really a laid back bunny now and has learnt that our own two dogs are no threat to him at all and is relaxed in their company. He does sometimes get a bit frightened when he hears strange dogs barking but we do our best to re-assure him and he calms down. He likes nose and head rubs and doesnt mind being picked up for a quick bum check! But he isnt a "cuddly" bunny and prefers all 4 paws on the ground. He is very clever and playful but at the same time can be quite a lazy bunny. To go from being terrified of people and dogs and to end up living with people and dogs and being so calm i think goes to show just how much hard work and effort people who have rescues put in to their animals. Well done to you all :D

Here he is doing what he does best

This is Buddy. He is a very handsome Orange Mini Rex. I also got him from C.A.R.R.O.T as a friend for my other female bunny, Mallow. He is a very cuddly, friendly and lovely natured bunny. I dont think he could be bad if he tried. His name at C.A.R.R.O.T was Peter and Lynda used to call him Peter Perfect because he is! I changed his name due to it being the same as an ex of mine (minus the perfect bit  ).

Buddy originally belonged to the owner of a pet shop. He had free run of the shop all the time and all the customers loved him. One customer in particular really wanted him but the owner was reluctant to part with him. Eventually, after wearing her down, she relented and let the customer have him. Buddy went on to live as a housebun with his new owner but in the process, destroyed her house and kept tripping up her ageing mother. She decided she then wanted rid of him so she phoned C.A.R.R.O.T and thats when we saw him.

Buddy now lives happily with his bunny wife mallow in a huge outside hutch and run. We love him very much. Thank goodness for the rescue or who knows where he would have ended up. God knows how anyone could give up such a lovely beauty like this but im glad they did as he lives with us now :D

This is our gorgeous Gabriel who came from Honeybunny's Rabbit Rescue at Leicester.
http://i31.tinypic.com/24l0sg1.jpg

Jill and Donna from Honebunny's rescued Gabriel, seven other rabbits and ten guinea pigs from an animal auction just before Christmas of last year. The animals were all destined to be used as meat or worse, for greyhound training. Honeybunny's won the rabbits and guinea pigs for £23, that is £1.28 an animal.
All the other bunnies went off to new homes and Gabriel was left behind. His bad start to life had left him very wary of us humans and so he didn't really want approaching when in his cage. I had spotted the picture of Gabriel when he was posted as looking for a home as I have a real soft spot for lionheads and lionhead crosses.
And so it came about that we were looking for a husbun for little Nia (a RSPCA cruelty case) who was coming to us from Lincoln. As I knew Honeybunny's had boys looking for homes and my family live near Leicester it seemed a good idea to find a husbun for Nia there and then combine a visit to my parents with picking up Nia and hubby.
It took two attempts to bond Gabriel and Nia, we think there was a problem with Nia not being spayed at the first attempt. All went well second time round and they came home to us on 15th June.
I must admit being a little wary of Gabriel in case he was defensive with us but this has so not been the case. He seemed to settle straight away and was so curious of his new surroundings. Within a couple of days we could stroke him in his hutch and he no longer chuntered at us. And binky! The first time out in the run, he ran and jumped like I have never seen before. It was so moving. He seems to be full of the joy of life, and happily this is now starting to rub off on Nia. This little man is truly special and has very quickly found a place in my heart.
