Poor piggies

Got these two of free cycle today both boys,have no muscle on them at all the texal was sooo matted round its backend and covered in poo:cry:
There cage they have lived in for a year (yeah its a hamster cage)

OMG the poor little mites - how can someone think that first cage was suitable for them both:cry: Well done you for rescuing them and giving the opportunity of a new start in life
 
They havent touched any food:cry: do you think its because there scared? ive covered the cage with a blanket,hope they eat overnight
 
Have you left them veg? if so chop it up and put very near them...they should eat when they've settled a bit..perhaps when your in bed!..will keep fingers crossed for them

Yeah some carrots and cabbage,burns dandillion and burns plantain all the things my other piggies love,there not even squeeking:(
 
Give them time they are perhaps a bit shell shocked
I know it sounds mad but how about putting them back in their old cage..cleaned a bit...for the night..the change of home, journey and space..may have spooked them..come tomorrow when they are over the journey put them in their great new home:D
 
They are still very scared but had eaten all there veggies overnight:)
they will get a quiet day today as im out all day today untill 8pm tonight
 
poor little piggies! you got them from someone on freecycle? our local branch voted that animals are not allowed to be advertised or rehomed....not even pond fish! how lucky they are to have been picked up by someone who knows who to care for them properly.
 
The piggies are still very scared:( The short haired one is still very skinny ive checked his teeth they look ok any other ideas why he could be sooo skinny?
