any ideas what size mesh i would need (what hole size if that makes sense) th use as a fly screen? if i cant get the right stuff i will use that fabric just thought mesh would be stronger
 
I don't think you get metal fly mesh. It's like plastic stuff, very fine only a couple of mm

i use a green meshing dont no what its called probly get it frm b&Q u can see it a bit in the pic

i have netting across windows to protect house buns from flies and me from wasps and spiders:lol:

i have seen metal mesh but its brass and bloomin pricey!

bif chewed a hole in my fubreglass mesh and ive panicked ever since.it was a hole about the size of a fingertip and she didnt eat it she just spat it out like she does her meds:lol: scared me witless tho!

i personally use the polyester stuff but last year i got the fibreglass stuff but my cats wrecked both:shock: maybe i should go for the steel mesh:lol:

thanks looks like i will use the normal stuff i get (like the second link) just done a quote for the window will come to just over £90!! :shock: i suppose i could make it half that though and only go across the opening window not sure how i would secure the frame though
 
Could be a cheapskate and use net curtains (even cheaper from charity shops)? If you needed some strength you could put normal wire mesh behind it?
 
I got mine on ebay. It's black and comes with self-adhesive velcro tape with attaches to the frame and the net just sticks to it. Very cheap.
