Hawys and I went to our local P@H and,as per, looked in the adoption part where there was one rabbit. The rabbit looked all scruffy and his nose was really snotty, his eyes were partially open too.I asked an assistant why he was in the adoption part and she told me that he's blind and has a genetic problem with his jaw where his teeth grow constantly.I asked where he was from and she said their supplyer!!This poor boy :( I just hope he doesn't fall in to wrong hands. He's a gorgeous REW lop xx

Oh my, they should give him to a rescue...there is no way this lil one will find a home with his specialist needs in P@H :censored:

I was in P@H today and they had a poorly bun too, a black and white butterfly lop called Moo. It didn't say what was wrong with it but that it was "Not like other rabbits and needed someone experienced who had dealt with rabbits with health problems". Poor thing :(

I'd be willing to get the bunny near me but i wouldn't be able to keep him :( If anyone would like to help let me know. His teeth are in a state and I'm assuming this is whats causing him problems with his eyes and nose watering.I put my hand over the enclosure and he rubbed against it :( Poor thing. He is a beautiful all white lop x

I'd probably be able to get this bun too but I couldn't keep her either. I'm not sure what's wrong with her yet, poor thing.

Can any rescues or someone with experience of disabled rabbits help?I've spoken with Hawys and I can't take him on :( Please someone help before he gets in the wrong hands.I'd be able to get him then get him to whoever helps xx

I've read this on here before about a rabbit's teeth being so bad they affected the eyes and nose etc - surely he should just have all the teeth taken out to make him better?

Would be interested to keep in touch with this bun....

When i spoke to the assistant bout him she said that he has his teeth trimmed and,wen he has a new home, they'll have to have his teeth removed and feed him baby food consistency food :( I really want to help him,I can only imagine the callabre of person he could go to,he needs to be in a rescue xx

how irresponsible can P@H get? if this poor animal needs it's teeth removing, then that's their responsability RIGHT NOW - it's clearly suffering and they are clearly breaking the law - I'd call the RSPCA about it :?

I too cannot believe that P@H have agreed to take this bun in their adoption centre and leave it there to suffer when most stores have vets on site.

If anyone is thinking of taking this bunny on and it does have major dental problems please be aware that this could cost a lot of money if he needs on going treatment.

I wishes I lived closer as I would be interested in having a look at this poor bunny. :(:(

I've taken Elve's advice.I realise that this bunny would cost whoever takes him on loads of money-not to mention that, because he's from a supplier,he wont be vaccinated or neutered.I just said that I feel that, although he looks content,he needs to be with someone who can care for him in the right way. It's not fair to have him on show. When i say he looks content he cleans his self, his fur is matted and his nose is runny :( I wish i could have done more :(

Have you not tried to contact a rescue near you to ask if they will take this rabbit on?

I dont know the details of this particular bun but sometimes it can be a very difficult, traumatic and invasive procedure to take all the teeth out, which can do more harm than good.

my bun's molars are overgrown and troubling her eyes but to remove them, vet would have to smash up and re set her entire jaw so its very much a last resort.

Sorry, the possible cost of this bunny was not aimed at you it was a general comment for anyone considering taking this bunny on. From all the horrendous stories we have heard about P@H adoption rabbits it is obvious that none of these buns are assessed in the same way as a proper rescue and therefore adopting from them is in the same league as taking in a free ad bun,you rwally do not know what you are getting.

I think it is fantastic that you want to help this bunny, as he really does sound like he needs special love and care.

Ever since you highlighted his plight I have been thinking about him and wishing I could help in some way, he has got into my head. Like i said I wish I could see him to assess what state he is in, but I have to think of my other special need buns and not stretch resources too far.

Well done for doing something positive for him, I really hope he gets the urgent attention he needs :)

I second the RSPCA root, they a) shouldn't have him and b) definately not on display for selling. People like that should BE SHOT!!

Honestly, I'd ring the RSPCA if he was near me....

The RSPCA definately need to be informed, infact there is a manager of a P@H store on here she may be able to help as she cares about the rabbits and animals that they have in her store. Someone may know her username on here it may be worth pm'ing her.
