Today was our VHD visit, so as the vet was giving them the once over I was chatting, asking if he gave the 10% in their skin, whether 2 weeks between jabs was sufficient as some vets were suggesting 4 weeks etc etc..........he just stopped, looked at me and asked if he was being interviewed cos he felt under soooo much pressure!!! He couldn't believe I knew so much! So thank you ;)

One really funny thing, I asked him to cut Joe's breeding ring off his leg (as I couldn't get it off myself and I hated it being on him), so he cut half of it and had to go out for a new cutter, so I started to tell Joe off and said 'look, we have to get this ring off now' and the vet walked in halfway through the telling off and thought I was talking to him and said 'well I am doing my best'!

Did you mean 10% intra-dermally with the Myxi?

Poor vet, bet he defers you to someone else in future :lol::lol:

yes - sorry didn't know the technical term

He won't defer me, he loves the challenges I give him

I always question my vet, I have to know the ins and outs of everything - why are you doing this? or why can we try that? I bet he dreads me going in!:lol:

my vet used to be a bit suprised by all my questions - maybe suprise turned into dread at some stage  She's lovely now anyway - talks to me about all the technicalities :)

Brlliant! It's so worth doing. I've just recently moved vets as they all changed within a few weeks The new ones seemed cluless about rabbits (while Bertie was nervously jumping around, he said 'I'm just gonna stand here and chill out') and gave Bertie the wrong treatment for a wrongly diagnosed mite problem.
Thankfully I went for a 2nd opinion, and now have a very thorough vet who specialises in small animals, and loves telling me all about the intricacies!

wouldn't have been able to do it without the knowledge gained from here though :)
