Wise Old Thumper
My lovely Sweet Pea, who is a sort of large nethie or small Dutch (!), has had a weepy eye due to congested tear duct on and off for about 9 months now. We have had it flushed a few months ago and then again about a month ago, and also been on ABX for short bursts and also various eye ointments. It seems to clear up quite qickly and look all sprkly and clean again, but then the weep comes back again about a month later.
He has had teeth looked at (but not x-rayed) by our rabbit savy vet who thinks maybe its a mix of teeth root plus degenerating tear duct problem . But now the other eye is weeping a bit.
Anyone else have this problem??
Is it 'just' an age thing?
Do you think I should just carry on treating as it occurs or try for more investigations?? Have a feeling it was cultured when it first happened to make sure we had the right eye ointment.
I don't like to have him go under GA for an x-ray as he is 9, but it seems such a shame it keeps coming back.
Advice and thoughts welcome
